Article On Stress and Simple Stress RelieversI used to think that reading articles on stress was pointless at best and probably pretty counter-productive. You see, every day there was new stress news on tv, radio and newspapers and yet I never seemed to do anything. When I would see an article on stress telling me, for example, that the food I was eating was bad for my heart or that more nothing would increase my longevity, it would make me feel more depressed about the way that I was living. I would not do anything to change it. Getting in shape seemed like such an impossible task, and it was so much easier to give in to apathy. Now I know that the right article on stress can really make a difference in the way that you live. It is all a matter of hearing the right thing at the right time. Inspiration, after all, can come from the least likely of places. In my case, it was one of those bland articles on stress that you see in the paper every day. They all say more or less the same thing, but this particular article on stress somehow grabbed me for some reason. Rather than telling me that I had to invest a lot of time and money, it told me that simple things like breathing exercises and running and walking could be good stress relievers. It told me that anything was better than nothing. The important thing, the fitness article counseled, was to get started somewhere. Related Articles
After reading that article on stress, I decided that I would do just that. I started off at a slow pace. The next day, I simply stretched, put on some sweats, and jogged once around the block. I was exhausted by the time that I got back, but at the same time, I was proud of myself. I felt that, for the first time in quite a while, I had really accomplished something. Within a month, I was up to half an hour of running every day. The article on stress was right. You did not need to start off at a furious rate, getting everything done at once. The important thing was to start somewhere. Nowadays, I read at least an article on stress or two every day. It is easier to get inspired now that I know that there are things I can do to improve my stress. The important thing is to get started somewhere. So the thing to remember is that, no matter what you want to start, be it an exercise programme or stress relief or anything else, you just need to get that first step going.
